Music is a big part of my life. My loves are folk, jazz and blues. I front a folk band – Newick Folk and play keyboards for a great Tina Turner tribute band, Just Tina.
My main musical activity at present is with Newick Folk. I do the singing and play mandolin and occasional guitar. You can see us in action here performing at a local pub. We are available for bookings from £250 (ceilidhs from £450)
Here’s another video of the band performing at a local festival.
Is a great Tina Turner Tribute band fronted by the Sensational Cylvian. Here’s a video of us performing on the Broadway in Haywards Heath last August

I also have a one man performance – Music and Marketing aimed at offering something different to groups who want to know how to promote themselves.
Marketing principles set to Music
Music and Marketing is an edutainment which was originally created for the Brand Network which I run with Mark Wing.
Basically I’ve used the songs of Ray Davies, the Rolling Stones, Bob Dylan and a couple of Jazz Standards to illustrate some of the main priniciples of marketing and to relate them to issues that we come across in getting the right balance between conventional marketing, digital and social media and networking and selling.
It’s about a third music and two thirds chat based on the research projects I’ve carried out into networking and online marketing that went to create Social Media for Real Businesses.
However instead of doing a conventional powerpoint talk I pitch up with my keyboard and deliver an entertaining presentation that can last between 40 minutes and and hour depending on what suits the event organiser.
It’s a good keynote performance for the right event or would work well to wake people up after lunch!
You can get a flavour of the performance here – recorded at an Ecademy BlackStar day using the superb grand piano at the Amadeus centre. I was asked to tighten up the set to deliver a run time of just over 30 minutes and covered personal branding, building reputation, getting your story tight and some lessons on networking and brand guidelines. .
If you think this would make a good presentation for your meeting group, company or conference please give me a call on 0845 094 0407
Here is a ten minute edit of the show to give you a flavour – hope you like it.
If you think this would be an interesting presentation for any organisation you’re part of give me a ring on 0845 094 0407.
I have played keyboards recently for Revo 6, the Ugly Bugs Blues Band and Blues Business. I also have an occasional band called Heavenly Blues which operated as a duo with Rhiannon Daniel between 2007 and 2010. To finish here is a clip of Blues Business at the Himalayan Blues Festival in Katmandu in 2010
